About Esso Fuel

Esso, originally known as the Anglo-American Oil Company, has established itself as a prominent name in the UK petrol retail market. The company’s history in the UK dates back to 1890 when it began distributing refined petroleum products. By 1900, it had built a national network, and in 1934, the Esso brand was officially introduced to the UK.

A significant milestone in Esso's journey came in 1951 with the opening of the Fawley Refinery by Prime Minister Clement Attlee. This facility quickly became one of the largest refineries in the UK, processing up to 124,000 barrels of crude oil each day.

Esso offers a variety of fuel products tailored to meet customer needs. Among these are:

Esso Synergy Supreme+: This premium petrol is engineered with advanced cleaning agents that enhance engine performance and efficiency.

Esso Synergy Diesel: Known for its quality formulation, this diesel is designed to meet modern engine requirements.

Esso Ethos™ 25% Renewable Diesel: This eco-friendly option is made with at least 25% hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and is suitable for all diesel engines without requiring any modifications.

Esso Loyalty Scheme

Esso has a loyalty scheme in partnership with Nectar, allowing customers to earn points on fuel and shop purchases at participating Esso service stations.

Customers earn 1 Nectar point for every litre of Esso Synergy™ fuel they buy. Additionally, for every £1 spent on car washes, lubricants, or items in the shop, customers receive 2 Nectar points. To collect these points, customers need to present their Nectar card or key tag at the time of purchase or link their Nectar card to the Esso App. The points earned are credited to the customer's Nectar account, which can be redeemed at various retailers such as Sainsbury's and Argos.

In addition to the Nectar programme, Esso has partnered with Tesco at nearly 200 service stations that feature Tesco Express shops. At these locations, customers can collect Tesco Clubcard points when they fill up with fuel or make in-store purchases. Specifically, they earn one Clubcard point for every £3 spent on fuel and one point for every £1 spent in the shop.
