About Murco Fuel

Originally established by Murphy Oil Corporation in 1960, Murco has transformed over the years and is now part of the Motor Fuel Group (MFG), one of the UK's largest independent fuel retailers. Starting out as a petroleum company, Murco quickly expanded its operations to include a network of petrol stations.

In 1981, Murco took a significant step by acquiring a 30% stake in Amoco's Milford Haven Refinery, which it fully owned by 2007. This refinery was essential in supplying fuel to Murco's expanding network of service stations.

However, in 2014, after facing challenges in a competitive market, Murco's retail business was sold to MFG. This marked a new chapter for the brand, allowing it to leverage MFG's extensive resources and infrastructure to enhance its operations.

Today, Murco operates a growing network of petrol stations across England, Scotland, and Wales, with more than 180 independent dealers.
