The Co-op name on a petrol station doesn't always mean the same business. The Co-operative Group sold its own 129 petrol stations to Asda in 2022, and many are now Asda Express.
Most Co-op petrol stations listed here are run by OurCoop, the independent co-operative formed in January 2026 when Central Co-op merged with Midcounties and Chelmsford Star. Its petrol stations are mainly in the Midlands, East Anglia and nearby counties. Others are run by other businesses, such as the Central Convenience stations in the South West, so prices, opening hours and facilities are set by each operator.
The Co-operative Group is also back on some forecourts as a shop, through franchises such as EG On The Move. At those stations the fuel is sold under another brand.
